In the ‘all candidates section, the list of people and the title of their piece will be displayed along with their image and name, in order to vote the user can drag their chosen candidate over to the left side ‘Votes’ where they can drop them under one of two categories “Best Research paper” (Orange) or “Best Presentation” (Blue) and here they will be able to sort them in order of preferred rank of 1-3.
In the candidates section depending on what category they were voted under will be either ticked off in the category colour or greyed out so they can not be voted again or double voted for both categories.
There is then the option to “Submit vote” once all 6 people are chosen in their categories.

In presidential and government elections, they use a voting ballot where the voter rates the options from 1-10 (1 being their top choice and 10 being their last choice).
I was thinking that it would tie into the psychology of voting as no one is left without getting a vote – allows new candidates to be recognised.
Bad ballot design can result in voters being confused and voting for the wrong thing. Instructions must be clear and correspond with the design.
